Default QTP headers question

My QTP headers finally came after exactly 2 months of waiting. They look great and I was suprised to see that they come with gaskets. They don't look like oem style gaskets though. Should I use these or buy new GM ones? Anyway here are some pics. I took these pics before I cleaned them, they look twice as bright now!

I'll be installing them soon with tsp duals. My friend has an incredible video camera, so hopefully I'll be able to post up some high quality sound footage.

You can reuse your original gaskets. I would not use anything but the OEM ones. My qtp headers did not come with gaskets. Interesting.

Damn those are nice! How do the QTP gaskets look compared to the OEMs?

The QTP gaskets look like two pieces of metal with something else in the middle (does this have a name?). I haven't actually seen oem gaskets in person, but I've heard they are 3 layer steel. Having seen other 3 layer steel gaskets in person, I would say that the QTP gaskets look cheaper. However, I'm no expert on gaskets. Maybe I'll be able to take a picture tomorrow.

Just save yourself the frustration of a leak at the flanges and get ya some GM gaskets...they are only about $20 and it'll keep you from having to pull the headers to replace the blown gaskets that came with the headers. Good luck on the install...you are gonna luv 'em!!

You don't have to use the ones we included in the box, the stock gaskets will work as long as they are not burnt to a crisp!

We carry the GM Gaskets also which are three peice metal. If your interested just give us a call if you want to order them and we'll get them out to you. In my opinion they are very good and worth the extra money. Its also a good peice of mind that your using a quality gasket between the headers.

The stocks will rock..the only way to go...GM has the best gaskets for the exhaust manifold.. you can reuse the OEMs if they are in good shape..
