Default SES light

A buddy of mine said the SES compensates for the problem and reduces your engine potential activity by 15%...I beleive i've heard this on 2005 SUVs and new new cars...but does any F-body actually do this? Just wondering if anyone else ever heard that about our cars..

I would think that is not the case. If you have an SES light due to a bad O2 sensor it still feels like it pulls just as hard. 15% is a lot if you think about it. It would be like driving around with headers one moment, and then the light comes on and you are back to stock manifolds.
