Default pacesetter install help

okay couple of things, i have the drivers side manifold off and i went to put the tube that goes in the top of the pacesetters but the on off of the old manifold wont fit, is there some adapter that i need or something? Also on the pass side manifold i cant seem to get in to get the last bolt off, its the one closest to the front bumper, anyone have any tips for getting this on off?

If your AIR tubes won't line up right, you may have headers from a different year model. That tube placement is the reason for there being a variance between year models while you're ordering. You can probably just bend the tubes to make them fit, but I'd junk the whole emissions system all together. Some pics of your situation would help tremendously.

As for the bolt, will it not turn? I usually use a gear wrench or my air ratchet to remove the manifold/header bolts.

The 02 drivers side AIR tube won't fit, if you want it on there, run down to the local parts store and get some heater hose, about a foot, and put that in place of the stock hose, and trim it to fit
For the front passenger side bolt, I used a 1/4 drive ratchet and a swivel socket, along with a 6 inch extension to get it off.
If it won't turn, then hit it with some PB Blaster and let it sit for an hour and try again

for the air tube its not a question of it not lining up, its that they both have threads on them and there is no bolt or anything to connect them, here are some pics.

What in the fark is up with that? lol

Only thing I can think of is to go get a threaded coupler from a hardware store. Bring the AIR tube down and match the threads. I just realized you're doing LT1 headers too.

Wow, that's fucked up. Talk about quality issue. I'm sure you can rig up a coupling adapter that is use for air lines. Lowes/Home depot have the stuff you need.

I have no idea, but I've never messed with LT1 headers before.

Yours definatly HAS emissions fittings lol. Best thing to do is call and talk to someone, I'm sure they can get the problem sorted out for you. They may not offer emissions headers for 93-95 cars?

Use a box end wrench and go at it 2* at a time, or pick yourself up a set of GEAR WRENCHES. These cars are bitches sometimes.

ive been using a gear wrench and there isnt enough room, i have maybe a 1/2 in to work with that the gear wrench will go and it keeps slipping off the bolt, i dont know if the damn thing is stripped or not.

Your doing this through the bottom of the car I assume. Just be patient. I had to use a boxed wrench and it took some time. Dont try to rush cuz them you might miss something and then it will be more of a hassle.....

No, you run the risk of never being able to get it off. It will eventually break free...

I had the same problem, all I did was just bend it but don't break it ( duh ). I hope you are planning on replacing the spark plugs. this is the best time to do it!

Good Luck!
