Anyone have a lowered car with a true dual set-up dumped (w/ Flowmaster 1-chambers)?
And do you actually have any descent ground clearance? I'm asking because I currently have my Eibach Pro Kit up for sale (haven't found any takers yet) and would absolutely love to lower my '02 Z28, but I'm thinking my ground clearance will flat out suck with the dumped true duals (using the Flowmaster 1-chambers). I just don't see how this will work??
If I'll be scrapping on damn near everything, then forget it. The shop that is installing them said I'll need to be at stock ride height to avoid any clearance problems. But does anyone speak from experience or know someone who's had success with this?
Just thought I'd ask before I pull the trigger for good on selling the lowering springs...
Thanks,
Mike

You can have your car lowered with a TD setup, you may have to do some custom fitting to get the best clearance. I am lowered with a TSP td's but i had to take it to the shop to get some areas touched up because they would hit everywhere. but now i have about 1 1/2 pop can of clearance.

It will be close. I am not lowered but when I switched from bullets to 1 chambers I lost clearance at the muffler. The rest of the exhaust is tucked up nice though. I only scrape the mufflers on speed bumps and such, and if I have anyone in the car with me it just sucks.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind getting rid of the 4X4 look, but at the same time, I'd much rather have the sound of the 1-chambers.
Thank you guys for chipping in,

i don't know about you guys but with my dual/dual i have probably over 6" of clearance on stock manifolds. now, if you're lowered 3" but manage to tuck your duals up better than a catback (which is very possible), i see 5" as feasible if you don't mind adjusting your exhaust for an hour or two til it's perfect.

I'm currently running 2.5" dumped duals with 1 chamber flowmasters and I've got a pro-kit on the car. I've got about 3" of clearance under the mufflers. The mufflers are close enough to the axle that by the time the mufflers get to a speed bump, the tires lift up the car and carry it over before it scrapes. Only time you'd have a problem is if the speed bump or whatever is in the road is narrower than your car.

I just put on TDs with 1 chambers off Pacesetters. I have the front lowered, but the back is not and I have good clearance with it tucked up. I'd say once everything is hung, I will have between 4.5-5.5 inches of clearance.
