Default gutting cats

For those who have gutted their cats, how exactly did you gut them?

You might have to cut some pipe to get to the catalyst due to the bends. Some people hack off a whole section of the side, then weld it back on. I did the one on my ole' s-10 blazer with a big drill and a 1" wide 3' long masonry bit.

I unbolted it behind THE cat (singular) and started drilling. I'd crank it up every 5 minutes or so and blow **** down my driveway. It had a 40 series flowmaster and turndown on it, sounded pretty nice. It was a blazer, so that big cabin acted like a bass drum.

If you can use a lift, or get it high enough to pull the y pipe off yourself, then it'll cost you five bucks to have them weld the pass side cat back to the y pipe after you mark two lines with a sharpie so it will line back up, then cut it on both sides so you can bang striaght through it, and driver's sdie is bolt on and easy. Then have them re weld the converter to the y the way it came off and just bolt it back up

I removed mine from the car and ram-rodded them with a 3' pry bar. Wear a mask, you don't want to breath that stuff.
