Default headers and drag times

Just went to the track with my new headers and ORY. My times stayed the same as with the stock manifolds in the 60ft 2.0s and 1000ft 11.0@96. My 1/8 mile time was about .1 slower 8.7s than it used to be with the same 1000ft time. what is the cause for slower 1/8 times and no gain in the 1000ft?

Running .1 slower could easily be a weather thing. You might also need a tune after the headers. The car is probably running richer now.

Similar thing happend to me as well, after doing all the exhaust work i havnt reached my ET or MPH yet with stock manifolds/cats. I know its party due to weather but im pretty sure theres a tunning problem.

Weather can greatly impact track conditions, as well as slow your car down. Many people don't realize that the slightest differences in humidity and temperature can change things.

Get it tuned and take it back on a nice, cool night and see how it goes for you.

i went from 13.5 @ 105 to 13.4 @108 with the long tubes and even less traction thats why the 9" with some sticky rubber is going in and 12.7 are their

A similiar thing happened to me as well. Before the header and offroad y swap I ran 12.78 at 108mph and after I ran a best of 12.75 at 108mph. I was a little dissapointed but after driving the car a few months I took the car back to the track 2 weeks ago and ran a best of 12.64 at 109mph. The temp was around 68 degrees the first time after the swap and 80 degrees the last time out. The car still hasn't been tuned yet so I don't know what caused the ET drop.
