Just to make sure, i got my coated pacesetters today and they are for the 98-00 cars, I have an 01 formula, all I have to do is block off the EGR right? Its a pain in the *** but I really dont want to have to deal with sending them back for the right ones....any helps appreciated

you could send them back, but if you are set against it, all you need is blockoff plates for the egr.

You can make your own, or possibly have the shop that sent you the wrong headers send you some for the mix up.

If it were me, I would send them back to get the correct ones. If I got shipped the wrong ones, and I made them work, I know it would drive me nuts knowing they were not the right ones. The decisions is your of coures.

Honestly, I think you should just be patient and send them back. Its worth it IMO to just do it right the first time. You dont want to be pulling those out and buying new ones because the blockoff plate is driving you nuts do you ?

Send em back!

I would send them back. Why have the extra clutter of the EGR hookups in there if you don't need them. Just one more thing that could leak...

Had the same thing happen to me, when I contacted the guy that sold them to me, he said that the reply he got from Pacestter was that some '01 came with EGR so they started putting the EGR ports on all of their headers with emmissions. I installed mine and the only thing that pissed me off, was that now getting to my #6 plug is more difficult than it should be, but still not too bad. This happened to a couple of other people on this board as well. Believe me when you are in your car driving, you won't give that EGR port a second thought.

Mine actually came with the block off plate and the gasket for it, which led me to believe that my headers weren't a mistake in shipping. They also were shipped straight from Pacesetter. Making your own would not be very difficult though. Just make sure you put a gastket between the header and the block off plate otherwise it will leak.

Kooks and Speed Inc. both sell block off plates if you don't have the means to make your own.

Damn, that kind of worries me.

So if you tell them you have an 01 car they automatically send you egr headers?

Hopefully there's someone here with an 01 that got the right headers?

I hope so.

If you really can't wait to put them on, I would take them to an exhaust shop or a friend that can weld, chop the flange for the egr off and weld a plate over it. Problem solved.

I have plates that came with mine, I was told they didn't make an '00 Header (wrong), and when I got 'em with the EGR pipe I was relieved. I have the plate, PM your address and I'll put some stamps on an envelope and send if you want.

I have 98-00 headers on my 01 Z28. No problems, just blocked off all the emissions stuff and they work flawlessly .

thanks for the offer lastcall190 but I checked my packaging again this morning qnd it did actually come with one block off plate so it looks like im doing ok, and also traitor, I told the seller that I had a 2002 car just to make sure I got the headers w/o the EGR but after what YEV33 told me I'm assuming that all of Pacesetters headers come with EGR and AIR and they send a block off plate too in case a car doesnt have EGR, also I checked Pacesetters website and I couldnt find a different part # for the 98-00 and the 01-02 cars, it seems all they have is offroad and emissions....

All '01-'02 f-bodies did not have EGRs.

'98-'00 have EGR and AIR fittings

'00's have the AIR fittings in the same location as the '01-'02

same **** happened to me...i didnt want to wait, but i was also told by tsp, that all the headers made by pacesetters (01-02) came with EGR I didnt think much of it, just blocked it off and put em on. Now the spark plug wire literally sits on the EGR flange. So if i was you i would chop off the flange...and weld it ofcourse
