Default I-pipe size?

I have a 2002 WS6 with stock exhaust. I was going to put a cut out right before the catback, but I'm not sure what size cut out to get between 2.5 or 3 inch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Considering they don't make a 2.75" cutout, you're going to have to go with 3". There will only be a 1/8" gap on each side, and if an exhaust shop does it, they can just expand the pipe some.

the Z's and TA's were less than 3", but wasn't the WS6 a 3" exhaust, ...or was that just the Firehawk and SS?

I know I put a 3" cut-out on my 00 T/A (non WS6) and it works great -gives the welder a place to slip the cutout over the pipe and get a good seal.

No matter my original question...3" is the only option.
