Well I did QTP headers not too long ago and I just got back from vacation I figured gas mileage would be decent but on my 600 mile trip I averaged 29.7 mpg. I was amazed I got that. I obviously have a M6 but has anyone else seen this kind of mileage?

it's pretty common highway only trips. these LS1's are amazing engines. it also helps that our cars are very, very aerodynamic compared to most cars (i bet if you stuck an LS1 in an SUV it would get 20mpg highway). LT's are good for a couple mpg too if you get a tune. are you running a tune? if you aren't, getting one will only make the mpg better! i'm pulling 21-22 mpg in mostly city driving, i'd say a 30/70 mix of city/highway so i'm very pleased and i'm an A4. add a ram air kit and underdrive pullies! it'll get even higher!

there's a guy on this site that gets 34.5mpg highway and puts down over 450hp to the wheels! granted he has a 'vette so it's a little lighter and more aerodynamic, but quality parts and a great tune can do amazing things to these engines regardless.

Ya I don't have a tune or anything I wanted to buy the software to do it myself but that will prob be next year or somethin. Can't wait for an underdrive pulley though that will be nice. I dont get very good gas mileage city, I get like 17-18 but I have a heavy foot and romp the gas alot so ya. I think i do that more because i daily drive a sunfire with like 90whp.

I can only get about 17 in the city. But, I have a pretty big stall, and tall gears, so she' s slipping around a good amount. It' s hard to stay out of the gas too. Getting the car tuned for LTs certainly helps. I think I killed a converter because the car was running too rich, before a good tune, so, that' s something definately worth getting done.
