Default Ebay Headers - Sponsor Review

Well, I've probably done about 15 sets of pacesetters, 6 or 7 kooks, a few QTP's, Edelbrocks, and the flowtechs... with all of those, i've never had a k-member problem, definately no grinding on the block, and everythings always went in easy.

Now...
These XS headers fit like garbage, why would you install something, see where it hits on the body/k-member/engine then grind the **** outta whatever it hits to make it fit. There's to many headers that fit right now without any of that.

Personally, i'd still go with Pacesetters or a Kooks Product. The XS i just put on my car, will be coming off for a set of kooks...

I had problems on two of two cars, with one of the companies you mentioned. No body damage except a quarter panel on one, and there was no frame movement up front. I' ve installed three sets and only one of the sets did not require any grinding. I guess it' s just the natural manufacturing tollerances in these cars. After all, they are only $20K cars. I don' t know how you haven' t ever had problems, but, each car is a bit different. I would clarify that I didn' t have to grind to get them to install, but, the keep from rubbing.

No issues on my Pacesetters. They even slid in from the bottom on both sides without much effort. Fitment was beyond great.

Im calling BS. My Kooks fit like complete **** and I couldnt even talk to anyone at Kooks.... Ive personally seen a set of the Ebay headers installed and they fit like a glove. NO banging, no trimming. They slid in just like butter. To each their own. If I wasnt doing a turbo kit, I would have sold my Kooks for the Ebay headers.

because ebay headers are stainless steel and will outlast the car itself. if you find me anyone that'll sell me brand new stainless steel kooks or QTP's for $350, i'll buy a set right now.

to me, ebay just isn't worth the risk. if you get a bad set, you're stuck with them. vendors have return policies. some people are risk-takers and gamblers by nature. this is why the casino industry makes tens of billions anually

I guess the literally dozens and dozens of threads I read about people grinding and trimming to get headers to fit before the Ebay ones popped up were all figments of my imagination.

I've installed a few sets of pacesetters and they fit like garbage also. I just chalked it up to the car itself instead of blaming the product.

The only problem with any header i have had so far is these and the Kooks GTO ones i put on a customers car, they had the end holes drilled to narrow for the bolts...

I had to grind the block tab as well as notch my K member for my jethots.

Each car lined up a little bit differently at the factory. Some headers will fit well, others will fit poorly.

There is car to car differences. But grinding a block down to get headers in is not acceptable. And f the headers dont fit well, your **** out of luck. You think they will help out if there is a problem. And why support a company that does not support this board or the ls1 world. All they did was a cheap knock off hooker headers. Ill stick with my QTPs

well not everyone can afford QTPs. If you can get a set of stainless headers and save 300 - 400 bucks off the price of the next cheapest ones, it would be worth it to me to grind down a little tab, but thats just my opinion.

Im a big fan of the pacesetters... if youre car is not a daily driver, or atleast dosnt see rain, snow or salt, then pacesetters are a great option. However my headers last about 3 years tops before they rust dangerously thin.

Im with guitsboy on this one. I have heard from people who have and have NOT had fitment issues with these headers and that goes for just about every other header brand aswell. These headers are only $350 shipped and will last forever just about. If they have decent fitment, they are well worth it. And from what Ive seen and heard, they fit just like most other brands...some slip in, some need a little modification. I think its just easier for people to knock them because they are an EBAY product. Im willing to bet if this exact header was made by a known company, it wouldnt get bashed for having MINOR fitment issues. Oh wait, they are identical to Hookers, and people dont bash on the Hooker Headers, even though they cost twice as much. For $350, I still think these are a great buy, considering they will outlast any other non-stainless header, for the same price, even if some sets need a little convincing to fit.

My Pacesetter fit like crap. My Kooks fit like crap. My Ebay headers may fit like crap. I havent got that far yet. I wont be suprised, and I wont care. I dont mind having to do a little work to get my $350 stainless steel headers to fit. Sure will beat the hell out of all the clearancing I had to do for my $900 Kooks headers.

What about powerwise...has anyone done any back to back dyno tests with these and any other popular headers?
