Default ok to remove heat shields on cats?

I have the TSP catted Y and i think the heat shields are hitting against the floorboard or torque arm. Is it ok to take the heat shields off of my cats?

You might feel some heat going through the floor board, doughtfull though. I'm putting some Pype's cats on the lightning and they have a shield material welded on one side. As long as you have the shield on the bottom of the car I don't see a problem (between the floor board and the cat. Personaly, I would rather have the heat than the banging. I would make sure that the cat is not going to bang.
