Default Summit racing pacesetter headers

Ok first of all my dad is the best because he surprised me with a set of brand new pacesetter headers from summit. The headers came in today and the box they came in was all beat up and the bottom was about to fall out. After unwrapping the headers I noticed that they was scratchs with the paint removed. I also noticed on the plate that connects to the head that there was runs in the paint. My dad is really mad and he wants to get a brand new set sent to me, but I said try to get a discount and money off instead since they will get beat up anyway. My question is this, how much do you think we can get off on these sets of headers? My dad is a outside sales rep and said that his company gives off 35% on scratch and dent stuff. Do you think I can get that much off?
-Thanks Brandon

Summit has really good customer service. Are your headers coated with a thermo coating or just painted black. If they are just painted black it will burn off and the scratches in the paint mean nothing. After a few months if they are just painted black they will be so rusted you will not even be able to tell.

They will tell you to send them back or make a claim with UPS. Its not there fault if ups scratched them up.

No what happen was they were shipped to another person before they did not like them while this happened it got scratched and dented and they sent me the same headers saying they were brand new. They are painted and not coated and I have run they headers before and I got no rust. It all depends on where and what conditions you drive in.

if they're not coated just try to get a discount.. you will see nothing from getting a new set since the paint will just flake off soon enough

Well I just got off the phone with them and they said they will give us 20% off. I plan on spraying some primer and high temp paint on the headers it was the fact that you sold me used headers.

**** that, you demand what you want for them being in that condition....or they should pay return shipping and send you out a brand new pair.

Next time you should buy from an LS1tech sponsor, the damn guy who SOLD them to you would probably be in this thread already.

That was very cool of your dad, btw. 20% is good considering the blemishes will mean nothing. Bolt them on and enjoy.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I told him it was stupid to get a new pair but to just get some money off. They did not just ship it to a different address the person before tryed to install them summit even told us this, but wanted to charge us for the new price. I agree with ls1blur but my dad didnt know about the sponsors. Thanks for all of the help and they will be sending me back $70 and a can of there high temp paint.
-Thanks Brandon
