Default Need some help finding 4" tubing

I'm going to build up a custom 4" exhaust and I can't seem to find a place that sells 4" stainless bends or tubing. All I seem to find is Alum.

if you dont have to have stainless then you can get 4" exhaust tubing anywhere ... Summit has whatever you need

That's odd have you tried a local exhaust shop? I know the place near me will do it, a friend has a 5" SS setup custom done on his powerstroke. Just a local Minakee.

My father owns 2 kenworth truck dealerships, we don't sell stainless 4" exhaust. The only place that I know of that sells 4" stainless pipe is StainlessWorks.com I think they are an LS1Tech sponsor.

Summit has 4" tubing in aluminized steel, not sure about stainless. They also have 4" band clamps if you have a slip joint in there somewhere.

Kooks is a sponsor and I'm sure they might be able to help you out too.

I really wanted to do the setup in stainless because what I have now is aluminized and it's showing rust pretty well after just a year. I want to show the car and having a rusty exhaust just doesn't help.

IMO 4" is too large to go over the axle on an fbody. I have the 4" mufflex and yes it fits but it also bangs on the axle every time i go over a bump as there is like 1/2 inch clearance. It's not worth it. When I get the money/time, I'm going to go with 2.5" duals under the axle or a hooker.

I'm doing a custom setup so I think I can have better fitment than the mufflex. Under the axle duals aren't my thing and I don't like that idea but if you like that then go for it.

I have a book from Burns and they seem really high on price to me. I might email them along with Kooks and Stainless Works and see what they say. Maybe I can get lucky and get a better price if I just ask.

It's really tight over the upper panhard rod. It's not about better bends or anything it's just too small small of a gap. The only thing that will help is an excellent mounting set up that supports the weight of the exhaust extremely well; not allowing it to move more than 1/2". If you're using a light muffler, that might help out too. Why not go 2.5" duals over the axle? I think you'll much happier if you don't go 4". I'm assuming your car is lowered.

It wont be a problem with ground clearance or upper panhard clearance.

Completely untrue. I had a 4" Mufflex on my 00 TA for some time, and now have one on my 85 Z28. Neither of them have any clearance problems, banging or rubbing issues. The pipes are somewhat adjustable. You need to spend more time making it fit. It is NOT a simple bolt-on affair.
