Thumbs up Sound clips!: Duals w/1 chamber flowmasters

I had some guys asking me if I had any more clips of how the exhaust sounds on my car, so I put together a couple short ones last night, one from in the car and one from outside. I didn’t have anyone to hold the camera for an “outside-the-car” clip, so I had to just set the camera in the driveway and drive by a couple times. I was a little hesitant to post that one, the quality isn’t very good and doesn’t give a real accurate representation of how it sounds. The 1 chambers have two distinct tones in the exhaust note, a higher pitched scream and a very deep bassy rumble. The camera picked up a lot of the higher pitched frequencies and had trouble with the deeper ones. I uploaded it anyway, and hopefully I can recruit the wife to hold the camera and try to get a better outside vid soon. The one from the inside is pretty accurate though.

Vid links are below sig pic, the two new ones are labeled “In-car/3600 stall” and “Drive-by clip”.

I noticed your are looking at getting true duals. You going with a catted system? you going over the axle?

Thanks guys!

jlashley2001ss: Exhaust is 2.5", no cats, flowmaster H pipe merge, mufflers are dumped right before the axle. The stall actually helped with the interior drone that I get at ~1800-2000 rpm. With the higher stall I rarely hit those rpm's anymore. My old setup of macs/ory/cutout had stab-your-ears-out rasp, this setup has none at all.

i WANT to, but we're talking a year or so away. i owe my college $8,000 in a month, plus i need to take out a loan for another 8 or so thousand. i'm too in debt to worry about headers and true duals right now, but hopefully they'll be in the future.

You aren't kidding! I couldn't hear a hint of rasp. I decided on single-chambers a while ago, now I just have to make my damn mind up about getting an X or H-pipe. Awesome setup.

226/236 .525/.525 110LSA

headers/ory/cutout will make you want to jam a pencil in your ears--ask me how I know ....won't sound any better than the loudmouth.

H-pipe hands down! what's the point of going for old school flowmaster sound if you don't put the old school pipe in with it? plus cars are more torquey with an H-pipe. no contest IMO.

almost everyone on this site with TD's has an X-pipe. be different, stand out from the crowd and make your own sound!
