Whats the difference between the ls6 intake manifold in the 01-02 and the 98-00 ones? How much are the gains and is it worth buying one ? thanks in advance

98-00 come with LS1 intake & 10-02 got the LS6. The LS6 flows better & is worth the upgrade. Especially if a cam is in the future.

also the LS6 manifold sits lower (because its bigger) and on an LS1 you gotta buy the LS6 coolant tubes that run along the valley cover, you cannot use the LS1 coolant tube unless you grind the bottom of the LS6 intake... hope this helped

I just learned today that the 01-02's had the LS6 intake. I'm kinda new and have been doing alot of research on these...Now, I'm just happy to know I don't have to buy one.

Here's a few boring details for you!

The LS manifold was redesigned for the 2001 model year and was standard equipment for the passenger cars, which happened to include the Z06 and it's LS6 engine. The manifold itself has a larger plenum volume (increased to 5190 mL from 5060 mL) and runner volume (541 mL from 536 mL) to increase airflow, while keeping the same 262 mm runner length. It also has no provisions for EGR; it was eliminated on the '01 and '02 F-bodies by revising the camshaft and Corvettes never had EGR to begin with. You can buy modified manifolds with EGR retrofitted if you want or need to stay emissions legal, though. It raised the LS1's power rating by 5 HP (350 for 'Vettes, 310 or 325 for F-bodies). Figure 5-10 HP at the wheels on an otherwise stock engine, 20+ at the wheels for one with an aggressive heads/cam package.

Mine will be up for sale in a couple weeks when I get my FAST 90/90 setup.

Yeah, there's a few here on the boards for $350 shipped. Maybe the ebay ones are bullshit.

Paid $390 shipped for mine of a dude on this forum with a C5 convertible. It's turning out to be a much more expensive project though...
