Default Question about gears

Hey guys, I have a 99 z28 and am about to buy 3.73 gears for it. My car car is an automatic and my friend said I should make sure there isn't a difference between the gears for a manual and an automatic. Just to make sure I need 10-bolt 7.5 right? Thanks

This should be in gears & axles section....answer: any gears for a 10-bolt 7.5" will work.

you need something else. I think 2.73s came witha series 1 carrier or some ****. The 2.73 gears are bigger or something and switching to a 3.73 you need spacers or soemthing..search in the drivetrain area..you'll find the anwser.

Like Brandon said, the A4 cars that came from the factory 2.73's came with a different carrier than the A4 cars that came from the factory with 3.23's

A4 cars with 3.23's use the same gear as the M6, but the A4 cars with 2.73's are different.
