Default LM resonator ??

what does the resonator on the loudmouth do? is it another name for a muffler? i know the LM is loud so does the resonator quiet the exhaust or just change the sound quality?
i have a LM on my TA and am now putting in LT's pulling the cats and putting in the cat back i had on my other car. i would like this car to be quieter than the last car so i was thinking i could keap the straight pipe and resonator from the LM and weld in the flowmaster muffler and tips that came of the other car.

I believe that it changes up the sound waves and tone. Other than that its useless, thats my opinion!

its a type of muffler. it only takes a bit of rasp of it out. its the same thing as a bullet style muffler. the LM2 resonator however actually muffles it down some

I couldnt stand the sound when I had it with LT's and ORY. I only had it like that for a couple of days till I went and did something worse....got a flowmaster.....But yeah, it doesnt really do anything.

The resonator is exactly that...it resonates the sound. In other words, it does little to lessen the noise. However, it is not a bullet style muffler. The LMII does come with a bullet style muffler, which does contain some sound damping material (similar to the Borla XR-1).

I bought the lm2 and the resonator is just an empty 4'' pipe. The sound freqentcy just bounces around, thus giving it the rasp.

LM1 is just an empty pipe, not a bullet at all. Sounds bad *** at idle, but running through the gears its teeth-rattling!

how loud is the LM2, can you actually hold down a conversation and hear the radio without yelling?

When you buy the LMII, you have the option to choose from two different muffler types - the resonator or the bullet style. You can also choose a third type, the powerflo, for some extra loot.

I've been able to wedge the SLP Powerflo muffler in my LMII setup. It definately takes some manuevering, but you can get it in there. It does look funky since you can see it a little from the side of the car.

With the lm2 it's a little hard to hear on your phone, but inside you can have a conversation. On the other hand I have headers and no cats, I decided to !stereo and add guage panel.
