You might as well do longtubes and be done with it. You can get some coated Pacesetters and ORY for about $400.

You plan on a cam later down the road, so go with the longtubes. The shorties would work great if you planned on keeping the car stock internally. Shorties are also more expensive than longtubes and dont have NEAR the scavanging affect(torque) that a LT does. The longtubes are going to allow the motor to breathe as much as possible as opposed to the shorties. As the gentleman above said, you can get an ORY and pacesetter longtubes for 400 or so from TSP ---> a sponser to the right.

a buddy of mine gained 4 tenths in the 1/4 by switching to pacesetter longtubes from edelbrock shorties. I'd say "longtupes"

DEF go long tubes i use SLP because they are tuned which means every tube is the exact same length more $$$ but very good product, o and FYI you cant lower your car with the slp LT's bc they will scrape!!

I have hooker shorties (came with the car) a MAC ORY and TSP Rumbler.. my car sounds great..

If I had my way, I would probably change to Pacesetter Long tubes or Hooker long tubes to gain that last bit of extra power before doing internal engine modifications

LTs > Shorties

you will gain so much more with LTs than you will shorties

the way i see it; do LTs or do NOTHING!

I can't believe I'm quoting spuds on this, but he said it best:

"Longtubes or shorties.......would you rather have a short ***** or a long *****?"

Long > short

i am gonna tell you to go longtubes. but, unfortunately, i have heard once the longtubes are put on, your loudmouth catback is not gonna sound too good (raspy). so, maybe you should stick to shorties if you dont want to change your cat back

I've listened to an LT-1 car with hooker long tubes, an LT 4 hot cam and a loudmouth, and while it was a very loud car it sounded very nice to me
