what exactly is a stall?? I'ver heard about them on several threads and done searches but what exactly is it and what does it do???

As far as your question, if a stall is just a mod to up horses, i'd definitely go with headers because the sound of the car is a world of difference.

id go with the headers first, that just gives you a reason to get a higer stall.

Tough call really. But you might as well do the TC first IMO to get it out of the way, just remember to get one that will be sufficient to all of the future mods that you plan.

also if you go the pacesetter way you'll have $200 bucks left over.

you need more than $600 for either one.

if you get a stall you need to have it installed and for best results should have it tuned

if you get LTs you will have to install them, then get at least a y pipe (my brothers car had pacesetters, a y pipe and then stock catback on it and it sounded nice) if not getting a whole cat back or true dual set up, then you need to tune out your front O2 sensors and maybe even your EGR

my suggestion would be coated pacesetters, TSP y pipe and stock catback, get a tune to fix your O2s and enjoy your slightly faster better sounding car.

Exactly, also once you get a stall you'll need to run DR's, as street tires will just burn up if you try to move quickly from a stop. Also Stock 4L60E's don't seem to like a STR of 2.3 or higher, so if you get one that high make sure to budget for a new trans in ur future...

id say get your stall. i think it will net you better times and it will be lot more fun to drive. if you want sound, get the LTs. if you keep the loud mouth... i hope you stock up on ear plugs, cause its going to be loud. your going to need a tune either way.

I would do the stall as your base/foundation for what you have planned in the future for it.

i say headers.

you get performance, sound and potentially better fuel economy, plus they're far more parts friendly. stall requires more work, what with a cooler, tune, shift kit, etc...and is more expensive with install.

Converter (stall) then headers afterward. As far as tune, you just need to tune the transmission settings ~125 dollars. With the converter and drag radials, I took a full second off my E.T. 13.2 to 12.2 and gained some mph to boot as well (shift extension).

Do the stall yourself its not esy but its not to terribly hard. I bought LT's as my first mod and just got my stall in the other day OMG!!! Thats all I have to say. And yes u will need drag radials. but your talking a half second off your time headers wont give you that.

that is determined by what direction you want to take the car. Figuratively speaking.

TCI, Yank, Fuddle. Call one of them up and tell them what you are wanting to get out of your car and they will most certainly help you chose the right converter for your application.

I went headers route first... Still undecided to what stall I want to get so I took the header route first. Now, I'm thinking of getting 3200-3400 w/ 2.1 str.
