Default QTP electric cut out BLEW UP today

i was just cruising around today and went to flip the switch to open up the cutout, about halfway open i heard a loud pop. i looked in the rearview just in time to see all kinds of small parts fly off. it worked great untill today. i know i didnt run over anything and i know it didnt catch on anything in the road... it just BLEW THE **** UP!

here are some pics

just one of those days i guess

That actually seems to happen a lot with electric cutouts.

After reading so much about how shitty they are I decided not to get one. Only takes ~ a minute to cap it or open it. It does seem like it would be convenient, but not until they get the reliability worked out. Just leave it open and save the $$!

main reason I got one was for when it rained and I needed to go quiet

yeah, obviously its not too reliable and it is expinsive. but it takes about 4 seconds to go from quiet daily driver to drag car without gettin out and under the car! it and it has saved me a few hunderd $ in tickets. " no officer that wasnt my car making all that noise, it was that minivan over there...". but to each his own i geuss
