Default SLP Y-pipe for '00-'02 cars only????

Hey guys,
I wanted to get an SLP Y-pipe to replace my stock Y-pipe, just for sound purpose only. I know I wont get any HP gains or anything, I just want to sound better.
I noticed on their website it only says for '00-'02 cars.......could I use it on a '98??? Thanks!

Well, honestly go to an exhaust shop and have them fab you up one for a 1/4 of the price. If they have mandrel bending capabilities you will be way better off doing that. Shipping alone is gonna cost some money. Unless you are one of the people that have to have the SLP stuff for nastalgia.

i read some where ( i think on speedinc's website ) that the slp y will bolt up to 00-02 cars and on 98-99 it has to be welded on.

I would say don't waste the money. Just get a new muffler or even a Catback exhaust. I put on a MagnaFlo muffler on mine when it was shock and got a good sound improvement.

The pre-2000 cars did not have both cats attached directly to the manifolds (one of the cats is in the Y pipe). Thus, the replacement Y from SLP will not bolt on to the pre-2000 cars without alot of grief.
