I've got a Shaner S3 on my mostly stock SS, and can't say enough about it. Ported, polished, and properly set-up, it runs $125+exchange.

You can have both at the same time. Port and polish your own TB and get UD pulley.

I have the same TB and it completely changed the way my car responds to the throttle. Great mod.

just make sure if your gonna port your tb, you take your time the first time and do it right....ive seen people dremel straight throught the lip on it....ive done about 15...and i just take my time on each one...they turn out real well, and it is a good mod...will show better gains with manifold to...just remember with a UD pulley, youll need a puller, patience, strength, new belts, and a new bolt....for about a 7rwhp gain...i got about 8 from porting my TB....3 different grits and time

buy the pulley and port the tb yourself. as mentioned before, just stay away from the area where the blade will close off to

I have a Bo White TB and I'll say the same thing - the improvement in throttle response is incredible! With an A4, you're more likely to have undercharging issues with the UD pulley. I vote ported TB.

as long as you dont get a UD alternator pulley it should be fine reguardless of the tranny, its just alot of time people get UD pulleys for everything including the alt.

I'm gonna say Mark Shaner is the best. My P&P TB is a Work of Art.

All you need is a dremel with sanding bits, fine grit sandpaper and some common sense. You can look around the TB and see the spots that are thin, just be careful around those spots. Seriously, I thought I was going to suck at porting, 20 minutes into it, I felt like a pro. You will get the feel for it.

+1 for port. i didnt notice much if anything with the u/d pully may be from already having a ewp(i did notice that) but, the tb port was a noticible mod and didnt cost much, a few sanding rolls and liquid metal polish.

My S3 changed the personality of my car. It's worth a few ponies, but just the throttle response was worth every penny.

Had mine ported by Bo White, and I am very happy. The throttle response does jump up, and the car will pull better up top. Get a ported TB before you decide on a UD pulley.
