Manual Fan Switch?

If you change thermostats, you need to either get the fan switch or have the fan settings changed in the PCM. I haven't done it yet, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make.

I don' t use one. The car cools off pretty quick. A lower thermostat would help, along with some tuning, but, you have to pay attention to not kill the batter, if you run them in the staging lanes, with the car off. I don' t really see the use, unless your intention is to run them with the car off.

i don't think there is any significant power difference if any is to be had at all. I did mine because I was having heating problems with my fans not coming on. I spent about $20 but I also made it fancy so it wouldn't look ugly uder the hood or in the car. The way i did it was i just spliced into the hs/ls wires near my pcm and routed them to my switch and grounded my switch by splicing into a ground wire where my switch is. I can't imagine it being too diff on an ls1. you'll probably need to find some sort of schematic showing you where your fan wires are but basically you are for a start.

you dont even need a ground... hold on ill find the linky...ill give you a dollar if you can find mine, my switch is in my ashtry and the one 18ga wire runs alongside the fender and you cant see it at all...
