A mirror finish looks pretty but is pretty pointless. You will need to polish down with as fine a wet & dry as you can, then move onto combining it with metal polish paste. A high speed dremel makes it a lot easier to achieve.

Remember, it'll offer no gain in airflow or bhp, and once you stick the bellows back over it you can't even see most of the TB.

2000 grit or emery cloth will get it shiny. Use a metal polish and dremel like 300 said.

Its mainly for looks. Smoothen out the imperfections w/ higher grit. Start from 400 and work your way up to 2000. Then after that polish it w/ polishing compound and use the high speed dremel.

I would almost bring the front to a knife edge. You can make it a 78mm by doing so.

yea i mean grounding down the whole tb is the point, but in reality just outside where the plate closes is what really needs to be taken care of. i just see to many people make the lips and cone nice and shiny and dont take the time to do the inside lip right outside the plate

I did mine today too...but I forgot to take pics. I bought a kit from walmart that had sone sandpaper rolls. Two different types of grit. I used the rougher of the two and it worked great. The lip on the inside is kinda hard to get as low as you want...just take your time and it will come out right. I used 150 grit to smooth it out then i used a cross buffer and that made a great difference. Then used some polish. came out pretty nice.
