fixing EGR leak
my EGR is leaking (pretty badly i think) and the car just drives like ****. when the car is running, i can open the hood, and feel/smell the air coming out of the EGR. it is like halway between the headers and the engine. there is a gasket in there that doesnt look too good.
can I JB weld it, or do i have to take it apart and try to get a different gasket, and do it like that?

id get a new gasket, i actually got a new one i didnt use, 2$ plus shipping and its urs lol.. i used a peice of aluminum with no gasket to block off my egr and it sealed fine, so if you take it off and make a flat surface it might be ok, but idk the aluminum is alot softer and makes a better seal then steel would...

I think you should just take it off. Get some block off plates and call it a day. You don't need any jack or jackstands, and it won't hurt peformance so a tune isn't really neccesary. I got both bolts from the top, just got the first one off then twisted the egr stuff out of the way so i could get to the second bolt.

the SES light comes on if i take it off... doesnt that hurt performance?
does anyone have a guide to removing it? i know the general idea, but not exactly where to cut it off, etc.
edit: nevermind, i found the sticky... but its completely different on LS1's. unless someone knows how to do it on a v6...
