Will i see any gains?
i have a 2000 WS6 A4 basically stock with flowmaster catback exhaust (was on the car when i bought it) so im thinking of just unbolting the chokemaster and running an open y-pipe (stock headers, stock y-pipe) so the question is do you guys think i can pick up another 5-8 RWHP by unbolting it? also how loud would it be? thanks

you put a cutout not in the actually Y pipe but at the end of it where the pipe is round, and it will be ALOT louder, and if you dump it under the car your goin to get more drown in the car

What is this for, are you making a trip to the track or is this just to drive around town, personally id invest im some headers or even a new y-pipe with high flow cats or get some cut-outs they are like $40 a piece, or better yet get a magnaflow muffler or something else to replace the flowmaster. Do something else other than unbolting the cat-back. Youd prob notice the gains up top and lose a bit on the bottom end. Dont be cheap with it if your goin to do something to it save up some money and do it right the first time.

this is just to drive around town, the only reason im not slappin on LTs and TDs is because the cops in my area jump all over ppl for that and i cant afford getting a ticket, so since im not doin that i figure i might as well just unbolt the flowmaster, drop 50 lbs of weight, and net a small gain and it wouldnt be as loud as TDs any objections?
