Leaking Delco Battery. Common?
Well I noticed a small puddle under my car that smelled like rotten eggs. Little did I know it was my battery leaking from the positive part.
I talked to some people about it, and it turns out the battery in my grandpas 96 Blazer also was leaking. However that one leaked all the way down the wire to the starter. So he had to replace the cable, starter, and battery.
Is this a common thing for Delco batterys?

The one from the factory leaked out the + terminal,
it was replaced under warranty, the replacement
did the exact same thing. Just took it out for an
AutoZone "gold whatever", 3 years free replacement
and 8 overall, $69 plus core.

Yea I work at advanced auto and delco side post batteries have a tendency to leak from the POS terminal, Unless your going to mount it inside the car their really isnt a need to spend double on a optima battery, people talk about them like they add HP or something. but the only plus of having them is its gel inside so it wont leak, although ive had people tell me that they had something leaking out of one of them. Plus like stated about the advanced auto and autozone gold/titamium batteries have the same warrenty as an optima and are less then half the cost

I think thats what happened to my car with the previous owner
The area all around where the battery is, is all corroded and disgusting looking. It even corroded away the coolant tube under the battery. I replaced it and everythings good just my engine bay will never be great-looking

The battery tray is also the top of your coolant reservoir,
GM must have saved dimes (according to their accounting
system) by combining the two into one "assembly".
But having corrosible aluminum under the battery is a
sweet bit of engineering.
