Default new rattle!!

on,well, i wasent sure where to post this so i figured i would start here!! Well, as the title says i have developed a new rattle!! It is definatly exhaust related!! I have heard that some guys get a rattle coming from the exhaust pipe hitting the k-member and them sticking a piece of rubber between the two! The rattle occurs when i put it in drive and when i hit the gas. Now, i had a 2000 RS a few years back and i know it was a v6 but i had a similar rattle and it seemed to be from the cats coming apart from the inside!!! So i hope this is coming from the pipes hitting and not the cats, cause thats alittle more expensive to repair. But anyway, please feel free to comment!

I think it might be your y-pipe hitting the floor. You still have stock motor mounts?

I would start here. http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=92

Bottom of the page. Prothane Motor Mounts. Between that and the poly mounts for the transmission, that seems to almost eliminate the problem.

Glad to hear it man! You will probably enjoy the ride quality much better. It is noticeable.

Your sig says waiting on headers. If you still have the stock exhaust manifolds and y-pipe. It's probably not either of those hitting the underbody. You might have a cat broken up or a exhaust shield rattling or even a loose exhaust clamp.

If you just put the headers on and the rattle just started, it's probably the y-pipe banging the underbody on the driver's side (been there.) Poly motor mounts or the mufflex bumpstop hanger should take care of it.

ok, so even if it is a cat, when i put the new headers and catted y with new mounts i should be straight then? I am still waiting on headers so this a pre-headers rattle.
