Default LS6 PCV is Drinking Oil!!!

Well got the motor running, but there is a problem. The motor is drawing in incredible amounts of oil into the intake through the PCV lines, and I have the LS6 PCV conversion, no catch can. When I shut the car off, the intake manifold is filled with smoke that smells like burning oil. I though it might just be from building the motor, but after 100 miles it's still smoking. I disconnected the PCV and after driving it around there was much less smoke in the intake manifold. I'm thinking of dumping the PCV and going with just a breather. Any ideas?

I just took off the throttle body and the inside of the manifold is shiny with oil, there is even oil dripping down the walls in some spots. In 100 miles, the engine has gone through about a quart of oil. There is no smoke coming out of the exhaust, and there are no external oil leaks, so I'm puzzled.

I have the LS6 PCV too, and I still got oil in the intake too. Do you have the pcv valve in the line? I use a catch can now hooked to the pcv.

Yes, the PCV valve is there. Now that I look more closely, there is actually oil coming out of the tailpipe in little droplets, and there is a little smoke coming out too at idle.

Wish I could help more. Mine has never consumed any oil and has not since the heads and LS6 PCV install.

I think it's the rings now. You're right, no PCV system can use up this much oil.
