Default can i beat an ls1 z28 with this setup

I have a 93 a4 z28, here are the parts that will be installed in the next 2 weeks, or are already installed.
K&N fipk
air foil
tb bypass
cutout
flowmaster muffler
hi flo cat
shiftkit
tranny cooler
all royal purple fluids
zr1 fuzion tires (very soft compound)
app 50 lb weight reduction
2:73 gears

im racing a friend of mine he has an exhaust only a4 2000 z28, with very cheap tires. Im not sure what gears, im assuming 323s., He said hell kill me, and it wont even be a race. I dont know if i can win or not. But assuming my car is running right, completely up to par, what do you think my chances are. What kind of hp should i be pulling from this setup? We are doing a 50 roll, and a 0-100 run. Tell me what you think my chances are

You're gonna get yanked on. Give it your best, and see what happens. GL

It will still be bad. For one you are puttin on one of the more restrictive mufflers, the K&N & cutout pieces are really the only power I see you adding. On a LT1 thats just not gonna cut it against a LS1.

And your choice of gears isn't gonna help your cause either.

LS1 for the win... because like the other guy said.. you have a filter and a muffler..

2:73's... not good..

a saying comes to mind.. change the wording and adapt it to your situation:

"McFly you bozo, hover-boards dont work on water... unless you got powaa!!"

racing is racing so anything can happen. So yes you might win. However in reality you have less HP in essentaially the same car. So it doesn't take much to figure it out.

If you can launch well then a dig may be a good idea and keep the race from0-80mph and you'll stand a decent chance. The faster you go the better the Ls1 will likely be.

Lastly find out what gears they have, if it's 3.23 go from a 38-40mph roll as it is a dead spot for them. I'm assuming you Lt1 will kickdown like a 2.73 geared LS1. At 39-40mph my z/28 will still kickdown to first.

if the driver is j'ing off or unaware you are racing him yes. Best bet, do a ricer flyby, flip on the hazards, then refuse to race him again.

your definately goona get rolled by an ls1. I think i posted in your other thread about your estimated hp levels. my buddy that i talked about with lightly modded ws6 6speed put down 262rwhp and i raced him when my ls1 28 was bone stock also an m6 and it was not even close. put like 5 lengths on him no matter what gear we started in. He went 14.1 in 1/4 and i went 13.0 stock

Your gonna need some more mods to take your friend down. Good luck though, let us know what happens!

It won't be pretty but try from a dig, being you have better tires, that's really all you have going for you...

Look at my sig:
93 with tune/3.23s/Loudmouth/CAI/TB Bypass - 252RWHP/285RWTQ
02 with no mods/2.73s - 295RWHP/318RWTQ

You do the math.

I called my uncle jeremy up, he has an auto 99 ls1 firebird convertible/ with no mods. Im racing him tomorrow, he a heavier and pushing less horses, so i wanna see how that will go. Im gonna put on my intake, and airfoil, before we race. that should be another 10 at the wheels and ill see how that goes. If i can win this, than i should do well against the 00Z since i will then have a shift kit, a cutout, and a tb bypass installed. Ill post the results

acually if it was stock the GST would be faster from a roll b/c its FWD so its less powertrain loss, the AWD only helps when you have more power and have trouble getting it to the wheels, both the FWD and AWD eclipses got the same 4 banger 4G63 engine in them
