My Spintechs are LOUDER than open headers!!
This sucks... I spent almost 10 hours yesterday fabing up true 3'' duals w/ an X-pipe. I used two Spintech 6441 mufflers dumped before the axle. I completely welded the whole thing except for two band clamps from the Pacesetter LT. I finish and start it up. That things ******* loud The whole point to a muffler is to muffle some sound and make it sound good, right? And I have two mufflers at that! Now the good part is it sounds sweet. Real low and mean sounding. But it's almost so low it make your ears wanna explode. So I'm pretty much pissed I wasted my money and time on trying to quiet down my setup and I ended up making it LOUDER
Will using turndowns on the tips of the mufflers quiet it down at all??

If you angle the turndowns straight down, it will make it sound even louder
Why not just change out the mufflers for two that are a little quieter? You've already got the framework for your duals, just throw in some different mufflers and fit in some extra sections of pipe of you need to. I'm sure someone would buy the Spintechs off of you in the for sale section. Hell, I sold a Flowmaster catback in there within a couple of days, and people hate those.

There's nothing really that quiet that will fit in a confined space.... The Spintechs are 6''x 12''x 4''. I think I'm just going to have to get rid of it and go with a traditional catback

The proflow twisters are supposed to be the quietest of the bullets, and you'll have people tell you that even regular Dynomax bullets aren't that loud in duals. You can find them in a 12 inch variety I'm sure, and they're a hell of a lot thinner than your Spintechs.

Well, I think I'm going to sell it and just go with headers> Y> single> over axle> SLP dual dual. I need it to be quiet and this is not. Look for it in the for sale section soon
