Default Throttle body spacers--are they worth it?

Are throttle body spacers any good?

I'm seen a couple ads for them, what do you guys think?

Are they just a bunch of hype, like the Tornado or do they work?

Thanks

SLP CAI is a good way to go? I havent heard anything but water in the intake whenever you hit any size puddle.

Yes, it is a good way to go....water is not a problem unless you think ur car is a 4x4 and you drive it through 2 foot puddles, that water **** is a bunch of hype, plus I live in California, so big puddles and assloads of rain are not really a problem.

wow, the whisper and ftra, are the same as the slp cai, but with an extra peice, but I added teh extra peice(ssra) which is the best you can get...I also got my slp cai for cheap..I am not complaining....my system performs just as good as ftra and whisper kit, actually better.

I do not have dyno numbers. The ssra is designed better b/c it has its own scoop which doesnt block airflow to the radiator as much as the other two kits. Although they prolly perform close to the same.

A good friend of mine has a throttle body spacer on his 98 z and he swears he got 10 rwhp and even more torque.......tested on a dyno. Not sure if he put something else on at the same time but he swears by his. No one else seems to like them.

I have a friend who painted his stock coil packs, and swears he got 6 rwhp out of the mod.

Amen to that. My car gets > 115°F IATs when idling in 80°F weather, whereas people who don't run that trash get no more than 100°F IATs. I can't say anything about the FTRA aor Whisper Ram Air as I don't have those. The lid is good though.

The SLP CAI is not necessarily overpriced, just have to find a good deal on one. I paid $50 for mine from a junk yard, it was in a Z28, I pulled a few other good bit off of it also.

well I guess the whisper and ftra would be trash too if they didnt have the extra peice that attaches, huh? if slp would include another peice and lower the price, then what the **** would be the difference between the three kits>?

Unless you have a wind tunnel's fan blasting into the front of the car, NO ram air system is going to show ANYTHING on a dyno.
