has any one heard that a rebuilt alternator needs an under drive pulley?
has any one heard that a rebuilt alternator needs an under drive pulley? my friend told me this and thats what he did to fix not being able to go above 6000 rpm with out blowing an rebuilt alternator. my car i have gone through 2 rebuilt alternator right when i put then on and hit 6000 rpm they pop? he said there being over rev and you have to have an under drive pulley? anyone?

I don't think there is any truth to that.
In fact.....I trashed an Autozone alternator with an underdrive pulley. They are junk. No pulley or magic pixy dust can save it. Spend the money on a good alternator or plan on using the waranty...often. I found this out myself.
