Default rev limit

what is the rev limit on a stock 2000 ss...i dont wanna hit it so i have been shifting early...just would like to know so i can take advantage of the topend power

pretty sure @ 6280 you will hit the limiter ...might be wrong though

...the LS1 can normally get power up to 6800 tuned

its gotta be higher than that...ive took it to 6400 without hitting the limiter

Stock tachs are not the best and stock rev limit is 6200.

No, its 6200. Your tach's probably just off like the rest of the LS1s in the world. My buddy always wondered why his car idled at 1200 rpms until we got it dynoed and it was really only idling at 7-800. To make power up past the stock limiter you must have at least a different cam.

The stock limiter is 6200 and theres no point in taking it that high because its not making power.
