CUSTOM Y COLLECTOR QUESTIONS (Flowmaster-vs-Magnaflow)
Im going to have a cutom y made for my kooks lt's and i wanted to get some feed back between the FLOWMASTER Y COLECTOR, OR THE MAGNAFLOW Y COLLECTOR. What im looking for is the best ground clearance-vs-flow. Mostly concerned with ground clearance issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

For ground clearance, the Magnaflow will be the best bet. I've had both, and the Flowmaster's 4" outlet is, as you would expect, less clearance-friendly than the Magnaflow's 3" outlet. The Magnaflow also negates the need for a reducer if you intend to run a 3" cat-back.

I could not find one with a 3" out. The closest one i could find was 3" in and 3.5" out, what i want to know is this going to give me clearance issues? And how well does the magnaflow flow-vs-how flowmaster flows? thanks

I had td and they hung too low, i could not get them to tuck up verry good, so i took them out and went with a custom cat back that im upgrading next week. But you are right td sound great.

Having used both, I would go with the Magnaflow. Having to use a reducer to get the exhaust back down to 3" is more of a hassle than it should be, and I the power difference between the two will be negligible. I know many have gotten the Flowmaster to tuck in nicely, but every little bit clearance helps when we have so little to begin with.
But that's all just my opinion.
And you're correct, the Flowmaster Y with a 3" outlet is only available with 2.25" or 2.5" inlets.

not a car but this is my set up on my truck,
using the magnaflow y, cutout and aerochamber.
i think you should have plenty of clearance with the magnaflow, and yeah when i was searching for parts, the flowmaster had 3" in/3.5" out.

I went with the Flowmaster Y300350, 2 three inch inlets into a 3.5" outlet. I also bought a 3.5" to 3" reducer at the same time from Thunder Racing, the reducer fits the Y like a glove the way it ought too.
