The Hi temp paint would be the stuff to use, but MOST LIKLY IT WILL FLAKE OFF, it is well worth it to get ceramic coated, not only to prevent rust but to keep the engine bay cooler, the coating helps insulate the heat and keep temperatures down. But back to the painting, I dont think ive ever read anyone having long term (meaning more then 4-5 months) success with painting headers

1. Go to Wal-Mart
2. Ask/find BBQ grill paint
3. Self Check-out
4. Spray headers
5. Done deal

I used the high temp silver paint, it's lasted 5 years so far. I put it on pretty heavy though.

What kind of high temp paint are ya using? I've tried a few different kinds on my race car headers but everything just burns off.

thing bout that is you need to cure the paint,ya know heat it up before you bolt them to the motor. i have had autozone high temp heat on my y-pipe for acouple years and i never cured it and it has never flaked off even whe ni blew my head gaskets and cover over heated at 130mph . my headers baked off though alittle and i wraped them but i want the clean look now.

wonder how good powdercoating would last on headers?
