I wanted a set of custom valve covers from Nasty Performance. After scoping out under my hood, I'm not so sure I'll be able to relocate my coils with an existing kit...I'll probably have to fab something up. I was thinking about relocating them on the wheel wells, but with my shock tower brace, and the way the throttle cables are routed on a T/C-equipped car, I don't think I'll have the room.
I've heard of kits that relocate the coil packs under the cowl, and this would certainly get them out of the way, but I've heard that this set-up, due to the longer plug wires necessary, reduce spark output. I'm not sure how true this is, but I'd like to know for sure before I decided to spend the money on custom valve covers, and a coil pack relocation kit.
BTW....parbreak, that's a bichin' lookin' set-up you have there! Just a quick question; it's hard to see in your pics, but how are you managing crank case ventilation?

As far as total performance goes, you do want the coil wires to be as short as possible. The kits that raise the coils up off the valvecovers seem to be the best comprimise. Katech and Nasty both offer this style, possibly others as well. Bob

What about using the 10.4 mm wires. That should take care of the longer wire issue. Same concept as relocating batteries to the trunk area. You need to go to a much larger diameter cable to avoid the voltage drop.
