Default LS6 Intake

Were putting the intake on and thunder racing ported tb in this weekend. My boy says he can just dremel the bottom of it to make it fit so i won't need the coolant crossover pipes. i know this is true but how many of you did this mod instead?

I've heard it works - but IMO just get the front coolant pipe/plugs.

I've heard it working and also heard of people ruining the manifold. I would just pay the $50 dollars worth of parts from your GM dealer and do it right.

I have a 2000 SS motor in my car and just got a ls6 that I was going to put on...I was thinking about dremeling the bottom of the manifold, but I don't like that idea because I spent $300 on this hunk of plastic and I don't want to ruin it.

I called the GM dealer about coolant pipes, and the front one is $45 and the plugs are $5 each, and they would have to be ordered. Online they are like $40+shipping, for less than a foot of 1/4" piping - **** that noise. I spent $300 on a manifold, no way I'm slaping down another $50 for supid pipes. I would search on the subject, but the search on this forum isn't working...

The best idea I've had is to cut the front tube and go to a plumber and have him solder the hole closed... or maybe I'll just fill the holes with JB weld.

I dremeled the bottom of mine a while ago and its fine. You wont ruin anything as long as you only grind the ridges and not the body on the manifold. If you **** it up, youre a jackass and should never work on a car again. **** spending the $50 if you dont have to, thats 2 bottles of nitrous.

Hmm...kinda 50/50 between the replies. I want to do it right but Saturday is the first weekend I can get it done for awhile but I guess if it's worth it, I'll get the pipes. Thanks everyone!
