Default MAF code question

ok...it threw a P0102...Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input

so here is what Im gonna do next..I need your opinions

1. When we had the car up tonight double checking again we noticed that the wire that is connceted to the front 02 sensor is laying against the drivers side header and seems to be melted and fused together. Obviously 1 end of the wire connects to the front 02..where does the oither end go? All we can tell is that it goes back up inbto the engine bay but we lose it after that...knowing that we are going to have to splice a new connector and new wire we need to know where it starts.

2. We cleaned and checked the iat and the MAF...and the car did the same thing after warm up....Is there anyway to check the MAF directly?

thanks for all the help.....as soon as we can get her running again Im planning on a new vert and cam possibly in the next month...
