who ports fast 90
looking to have my fast 90 ported. I'm currently running a 408 in a vette. 6.0 lblock, comps 251/251 112,.670 lift. I'am running a livernois stage 3 head (317casting), and would like to make some changes to bump the compression from 10:8 to 12:1. While shes down i need to find a good place to have the fast ported. Any ideas????

Its pretty easy to do yourself, I did mine and it turned out perfect. All you need is a dremel to remove the extra material, and a small flat and round file to make it smooth and perfect. save you about $180. I actually had fun doing mine.

For the ports that transition into the head ports, I cut a scrap piece of wood about a 1/16 less than the inside, and wrapped it with coarse sandpaper. Easy to control, without leaving the grooves a grinder/file can, and fairly non-labor intensive. Only works on the rectangular ports, though. I still haven't installed the FAST, however.

The fast matched up to the TFS heads pretty well so I didn't even mess with that. The power gain is removing that huge chunk of material blocking the smooth transition of the runners.

The material is pretty hard and it took HOURS to grind and file. There is a shitload of material to remove where the extra casting flash is in the runner. The dremel takes that down. Then you hand file the remainder smooth as glass and polish it. Done. Take 2 seconds with the dremel and zip the molding flash out of the beginning of the runner (don't even need to do this). Take the dremel and hog out the TB opening where the lip is, hand file it smooth. I slipped a few times, no problems whatsoever! It is easy, it takes patience and anybody on this board could do it. As long as you don't have the shakes or some ****.

Can anyone show pics of what is being removed? I've never seen the inside of my intake, so have no idea what exactly is being removed. To match the ports, are you guys making a template of the head ports, and then transfering them? How exactly would you make a template.
Somone needs to do a proper write up of this, complete with pics..
