I have been wondering this for a while so could a guy turn up the screw to make it idle a little faster for the use with a cam?

You can, but if I'm not mistaken, the PCM will eventually adjust for the excess idle air. In order for it to work for any length of time, you'll need to do a little bit of tuning.
