Exclamation Cat Problems

Alright so 2 months ago I got an x-pipe put on my 2002 Trans Am WS-6 & a month ago I started hearing some clanking noise coming from my right cat. The sound ended going away by itself so I didn't worry about it. A couple of days ago it comes back and now it's pretty damn loud. I knew something was loose in it so I took it to the dealer since I have extended warranty because I wanted them to fully lift it for me so I could see how dented up the cat was. It's a small dent but that noise is a pretty loud clanking sound now. I've never had this happen so I don't know how pressed for time I should be in buying a new one. If anyone can tell me how quickly I should get it replaced and if anyone has any opinion if I should get another stock one or which aftermarket that would be great. Thanks

Default

Factory cats are warrantied under EPA Federal Law for 8 years/80k miles.

If you go with aftermarket cats, check out the Magnaflow metallic core cats.
