Default tuned headers

hey guys what does it mean when a header is tuned? also, i was thinking of either going with a pacesetter coated or a qtp(i know opposite ends of the spectrum), but will i actually be happier with a qtp?

tuned- fancy for optimum lengths for hp production- far as i know. considering your in a non-high rust area i think the pacesetters would be ther better value in your situation, only reason i wanted only a s/s header was where i live nj = one of the worst places for rust. and acourding to most people on here theres more of a performance difference going from different primary sizes then brand of headers.

When you add headers to your car it will richen out the fuel a little bit. When headers are tuned, that basically means that the fuel has been leaned out to optimum performance. I am not sure if anything else is adjusted though.

I believe "tuned" means all the tubes are equal lenth so each cylinder pulses enter the collector in the proper sequence, in effect helping "pull" the next cylinders' pulse out.

You will be happier with the QTP. First and last header you will buy for your car. It wont rust and will make more power than the pacesetter on a bolt on car and even more so with more power. Pacesetter is not a bad header but im not a fan of rusting and i read its hit or miss on the fitment.

ya as stated above tuned just means that every tube on the header is the exact same length. This is the best kind of headers bc it gets the exaust out quicker and adds more HP. The high $$$ headers are tuned but like pacesetters and ebay headers are not tuned but still add a decent amount of HP.
