Default Cut wires!!!

Howdy boys & girls. I'm Deane from Grass Valley, CA and just bought my first LS1. I'm installing it in (or will attempt to intall it) a 1961 Impala (bubble top). I'm already facing my first problem. It appears that the engine has some cut wires. (I've attached some pics.)

My first questions is, will an aftermarket harness fix the problem? Oh, and is this the correct forum for this problem?

I just got the engine and I am just learning about these things. Having said that, I will take your word for which harness that is, but it does connect to the coil packs. My question is: If I replace that harness with an aftermarket harness, will that take care of that problem?

Why not just splice the wires back? Looks like both ends are there. Jyst get some butt connectors or solder them and use shrink tubing.

I thought about that, but want a smoother look, so I'm going with after market. but the question still remains, will after market take care of the problem???

Depends slightly on what year harness you need and if for auto or 6spd. It's expensive but if you want to go with an aftermarket harness for your transplant, Try these.

Anyone bought Street and Performance?

I want to hide as much as possible. Anyone recommend a longer harness?

If you're hiding the harness anyways, what does it matter than you solder it and heat skrink wrap it? saves you about 800$ if you bought a new harness just because of this 1 tiny little wire issue.

No one will see it under engine covers if you are planning on using those.

Good point, but I need a longer harness to hide the computer, et.al. Are there such things as 'extentions'?

Maybe Painless Wiring has something to that effect.
