Default dynomax bullet vs. sweet thunder

Quick question...Being that the sweet thunder is not a bullet, will I lose power if I swap the dynomax bullet for an 18inch sweet thunder in the TSP rumbler setup? I have heard both on LS1sounds.com, and both sound good, but which one is truly louder? I want as much loudness as possible...The exhaust will be the first thing done to the car, and then LT headers and a catted Y are coming in the future...Thanks

i havent really heard the dynomax bullet, but i had the sweet thunder on mine and it was not alot different than a loudmouth. It is still straight thru, it just has small crimps in it to let some of the exhaust gasses get into the packing and quiet it down some. Personally i would go with the ST

Dynomax's are just straight loud (race 16" version)

Sweet Thunders are more deeper and a bit more refined

Does the swwet thunder cut down on a lot of rasp? Im thinking of putting either an XR-1 or a sweet thunder in place of my LM resonator. Which one will cut out the most rasp?

Sorry to highjack the thread. I just thought it was too similar a question to start another thread.

Would the ST be an easy swap from the bullet? Is it quieter than a regular dynomax bullet? I like the idea of a deep sound, I hate rasp, but will it be loud enough?

The ST will cause turbulance inside the pipe. I have 2 bullets and love them. The biggest down side about the Sweet Thunders 3" is the inside is only 2.5". A bullet is true 3".

I have the bullets and it is simply awesome...loud as heck!

In fact, I'm thinking of running them out the back into a center mount exhaust to eliminate some cabin noise.

Now look inside the bullet..

When the exhaust hits the "chambers" its going to start tumbling and not flowing smooth. If you wanted a chambered muffler, I would look at the Classic ones that Tim @ EAD sells in the sponcor section.

Silent when u say backwards do u mean bullets are louder but sweet thunders sound better? Would there be a major difference in loudness between the 2?

Well ill be gettin tru duals catted with dynomax race bullets in about 2 or 3 weeks, so ill let u kno how it turns out. But from what ive heard, dynomax bullets are pretty much one of loudest setups u can get. ST's have a more refined tone to them but are not AS loud as bullets, so if u want loud, then go with the bullets. Ur cats will tone down the rasp.

I have LT'S with The TSP Sweet thunders, And just starting it up in the morning in my complex parkinglot. I set off alarms. They are loud as ****. But once the car warms up they seem to quiet down some. They are a great sounding muffler, You can't go wrong with them, And as for the Dynomax's I have heard them also, they are loud as ****. You can't go wrong with them either, so IMO, It is personal oppionion.
