Default insanely loud? new exhaust setup

im going with pasecetter longtubes/ory and slp lm1 catback. is my car going to be insanely loud? even when not WOT? should i get good quality sound? how will it sound with my f14 cam when installed? i've heard the ones on ls1sounds.com but my buddy's vette who had longtubes and lm1 sounded much much louder than the couple clips with the same setup. thanks guys

I don't know if insanely loud are the words to use. More like apacolypse.

loud!! . around 2k it makes a drone that drives me crazy. i was going to try a borla or dynomax bullet but i think i'll just get a diff catback with a real muffler and just do a cutout.

i have heard all of the following
Stock manifolds and ORY with LM1
LT and LM1
LT and LM1 with big cam
LT and LM2 with big cam

all of which sounded like poopy until in WOT(then it was just too dang raspy loud)...well the LM2 was much better than the LM1

of course this is just my opinion. All the owners of the cars loved it (but i think alot of people get sound quality confused with sound volume)

what you just said is what i think. sound quality is diff then sound volume. also sound inside the car is different than sound outside of the car. we'll see.

Could not have said it better...

If it is too loud, try installing a dynomax bullet muffler in the intermediate pipe before the axle...should tame it down a bit, make it a little more "refined" and it's cheap...

I have Pacesetters and a Loudmouth exhaust right now and it's the most obnoxious **** I've ever heard. New muffler(s) coming soon.

I've got a LM wouldn't change it except for duals running LM resonators with a H pipe.

Only thing I don't like is it's still a little too tame on tick over. But I do run cats.

Ive got longtubes with a catted y and lm1. To be honest its got a good tone very little rasp, around 85mph the drone can get annoying. I can live with it untill i decide to switch to duals.

if you want insane loud go for the lm1 or better yet duals. but if you don't want insanely loud you should look into other catbacks

I have Edelbrock shorties, catted Y and a LM with a bullet muffler. I plan on going to an ORY and Pacesetter LTs. My buddy that I bought the LM from gave me a pair of resonator tips and said they go a LONG way in making the exhaust sound better. I'd go for it, as long as you put a bullet muffler in and resonator tips.

I personally like the sound of ORY+LM+LTs, my friend has that setup on his 99 T/A. It really not that loud... its about as loud as my LTs+TDs+bullets dumped.... except the TDs and bullets sound much cleaner, meaner and more "musclecar" than the LM. Plus I have no rasp with my setup, and to be honest... he has considerable rasp with the LM... but it still sounds good IMO.
