Default somebody has to have had this same problem(MACS)

Just put some Mac headers and ORP on the '01 ls1. Stock catback w/ cutout. Where the Y-pipe meets the I-pipe the I-pipe is about .25 in dia smaller. I don't have the tools needed to crimp the Y-pipe. Is there a better solution. I couldn't think of a temp one untill i get the shop. Can the I-pipe be opened up a little with the right tools to make a tighter fit?

All MAC ypipes are like that and yes they are too small. I just let mine hang loose to the drive to the muffler shop and had them expand the ypipe to the same diameter of the intermediate pipe and weld it together.

It's actually the other way around. The end of the t-pipe is bigger than the i-pipe. I guess I'll just gett eh i-pipe expanded and crimp a big clamp on there. I wantt he ability to unbolt the y-pipe.

thanks
