Question Y-Pipe Question

Whats the difference between a catted Y-pipe and just a regular Y-pipe?
Im getting Stainless Works headers installed in my 02 TA and it comes with a catted Y-pipe.

Cat is short for catalytic converter. You can order y-pipes with or with out cats.

Most places regular Y pipes are ORY= off road Y which means no cats, while some have catted or emmission friendly Y pipes
