Default Striaght pipes Vs. X pipe!!!

in street catagory we need to have exhuast appearing from the back of the car, I'm thinking 2 striaght pipes to the back, my brother is saying X pipe and then striaght to the back,3" in both cases , what do y'all think? by the way it's a race car...with 5000 stall...

X is supposed to make more power due to the scavenging effect. Plus it might sound better.

allready have FlowTech 3" X-pipe......but need to know which way will perfome better in the Track....(X or stright pipes??)

My track testing has shown that the X-pipe performs better in a NA application.

there is a good thread on this if you go into search. it explains why and x or h pipe is good for the pressure wave which helps to scavenge the engine and increase torque. it is techincaly called a resonator box. your case may be different when racing. it depends on your engine and setup. but if you do maintain high rpm with that stall then run straight pipes out the back and use a cutout (if allowed).

i just learned something new. i would just imagine straight pipes making more power due to no bends. but i know nothing. x-pipe it is

mullenh.....No Cutout in my Catg.


So,it'll be 3" all the way back with...3" Flowtech X-pipe....3" Dynomax bullet....under Axels...
