Default Lopey cam and cutouts anyone???

I love the sound of my cam but sometimes I wish it was just a little louder. So easier than installing another cam with a lot more overlap I've been reading up on electric cutouts. Most people it seems really love the mod although there are a few complaints about leaks and motors burning out. I think I've read just about every thread I could find but just can't seem to find alot of sound clips of people with lopey sounding cams showing them open and closed. If anybody can provide a link to some I'd appreaciate it. Also, is QTP still the overall favorite?? I think these would be a great way to go from mild to wild.

Don't put a cut-out on a vette.

The point was....vettes don't need cut-outs for the redneck factor. A vette that drives down the raod that is pleasantly loud is a whole lot more apealing than one that sounds like a tractor plowing up the highway.

A microphone or camera does no justice in the full sound department.

DMH makes good electric cutouts and their customer service is awesome. Comes with a 4 year unlimited warranty. Only problem I had was that it started to rattle a little while closed but that was after 2 years of use. Mailed it back to them and they sent me a new one free of charge.

My friend has a vette with electric cutouts and I think it sounds awesome with his cam. It makes me wanna sh#t my pants everytime I heard him start it up and let it idle.

True words of wisdom.

If you want to hear the lope a bit more, reduce the idle speed by 50 -75 rpm.

I've only heard a couple of soundclips of vette's with cams that had cutouts but they did sound badazz with them open. I've seen two installation photos over on Corvetteforum and they are very professional looking, looks like they came from the factory that way. Mine isn't a daily driver and really just looking to up the fun factor a little. Haven't really made my mind up yet, just looking for some feedback from others that wanted to hear a little more lope from their cam. Also, my idle is set at 850 now and my tuner said he wouldn't want to drop it any more.

I have my lopey cam at 950 now. Why would he not put it at 800?

You wouldn't have any soundclips would you???? I know it isn't the same as hearing it in person, but gives me an idea anyway.

Find a tractor driving down the road at 35mph....That will be your answer.
